World tennis star Nick Kyrgios has had his hearing postponed for 3 weeks by local judicial authorities.

The 27-year-old Australian was summoned to appear in Canberra court on an assault charge following an incident in December last year.

According to the statements of his lawyer, Jason Moffett, this incident would have occurred in the private sphere of the tennis player, who takes this allegation very seriously.

Kyrgios inclined to appear

The Australian police had remained particularly vague regarding the identity of the accused.

She had said in a statement that he was a 27-year-old man, from Watson, due to appear in magistrates court on August 2.

According to his lawyer, the Wimbledon finalist is “determined to respond to all allegations once they are clear”, but the latter will not be obliged to be present.

Nick Kyrgios is set to take part in the US Open at the end of August, despite these allegations.
