This is one of the tracks of the government: proscribe matches organized in the evening.

The subject is not taboo, because an evening match in winter means heating in the locker rooms and in the guest areas, but also powerful lighting to illuminate the lawn.

All of this is very energy intensive.

Postponing meetings would save money

Shifting these matches, in particular Ligue 1 during the day, would save money.

Heard by the Senate, Minister Amélie Oudéa-Castéra wants all avenues to reduce energy consumption to be studied.

She would like to "achieve a long-term commitment and try to bring us, the world of sport, all our contribution."

Football clubs open to discussion

Football clubs say they are open to discussion.

"I do not tell you that I am a fan, but it deserves that there is a reflection which is organized, but it is necessary to put figures in front", judges the president of Amiens who evolves in Ligue 2, Bernard Jouanin.

But for the world of football, it is not so simple since it would be necessary to modify the contract with the broadcasters, who are very happy to offer prime time matches, which are much more profitable.

One of them, Amazon, contacted by Europe 1, did not wish to answer our questions.

In the meantime, the Minister of Sports, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, wishes to organize a round table at the start of the school year with all the players in the sports world.
