An exchange trade between Kohei Morihara, who has been a relief pitcher for professional baseball at Rakuten, and Yukiya Itoh, a right-handed batter of DeNA, has been announced.
Pitcher Morihara, who will transfer to DeNA, is 30 years old in his sixth year as a professional.
He has a strong straight and a forkball with a head, and in 2019, his third year, he pitched in 64 games as a relief of the winning pattern and recorded 16 consecutive games without any runs.
Pitcher Morihara commented, "I think that he had various experiences with Rakuten, and I am grateful that he was able to grow as a professional baseball player and as a person."
On the other hand, Ito, who will transfer from DeNA to Rakuten, is 25 years old from Mie prefecture.
He is a fourth-year professional infielder who joined Rissho University in second draft.
He is a large right-handed batter with a height of 1 meter and 82 centimeters and a weight of 90 kilograms.
He is expected to play an active role as a thin right batter at Rakuten.
Ito commented, "I'm disappointed that I can't get the results I want, but as a baseball player, I'll do my best in a new place so that I can achieve my own results."
