According to the prosecution, the 25-year-old victim was riding with two other cyclists from the Japan team, when "she suddenly fell, deporting to the opposite lane" as another vehicle passed.

The prosecution has opened an investigation, entrusted to the national gendarmerie, for manslaughter in order to determine the circumstances of the accident.
