Ukrainian Dynamo Kyiv won the match and the doubleheader after an overtime drama (2-1).

But the headlines after the game came to be about what took place in the stands, rather than on the lawn.

Fenerbahce supporters' chant about Russian President Vladimir Putin, shortly after Dynamo Kyiv scored, did not go down well.

Dynamo Kiev coach Mircea Lucescu did not appear at the post-match press conference, which according to Turkish media was in protest of the fans' behavior.

- I didn't expect such chants, it's a shame, Lucescu told BBC News Turkey.

Turkish TV commentator and former referee Ahmet Cakar wrote on Twitter that Uefa's executive committee was quickly convened and in contact with match delegates on site.

"There is immediate pressure on UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin.

According to European leaders, the 'Putin Songs' are considered the most serious chants of all time," Cakar wrote.
