It was an emotional Hedvig Lindahl who came to SVT's microphone after the EC exit.

- I probably thought that this would be my last (championship).

I don't know anything about the future.

Should Peter (Gerhardsson) ask again, I'll have to think about it, but maybe there is someone who can do it better, she says.

But is it something you've landed in...?

- You always want to finish on top.

And of course this wasn't great.

But I would probably have stopped after the Olympics with hindsight.

Sometimes you just have to stop.

About the goals: "I didn't have time to react better"

England's elimination in the semi-finals began in the first half when the team took the lead through goalscoring legend Beth Mead, but manifested itself above all in the second.

2-0 came straight after the half-time break.

Then it really flowed away with two more balls behind Lindahl - one of the goals was a heel by Alessia Russo that tunnelled the Swedish goalkeeper.

Another a hard chip by Fran Kirby from distance that Lindahl touched but still went into the net.

There are two goals that at least look like from the stands that you should be able to take.

What do you say about those situations there?

- I think the 3-0 goal... that she probably surprises everyone in the arena when she does that heel.

"Well done Russo as well".

I couldn't react better.

And Kirby wins the ball when we're coming up, where I'm in a higher position and I see her going to lob.

But I only have time to go back as far as I could and jump as high as I could, unfortunately I couldn't do better.

"Hatred will be directed at me"

Hedvig Lindahl says that she is prepared to receive criticism after the match.

- Hatred will be directed at me.

But then you have to keep your feet on the ground.

Because when you're a star, you're never as big a star as everyone says.

And if you're an idiot, you're never as much of an idiot as people say either.

But unfortunately, people in today's society are not always very good at handling emotions.

What are you feeling right now?

- It's just pretty empty.

At the same time, I actually feel proud, not for this match, but because we dared to stick our chin out and believe in ourselves.

Hopefully it will inspire a new generation of Swedish footballers who want to carry the Swedish colors on, says Lindahl.
