Alexandersson had only planned to run the first stage of the O-Ring in Uppsala, but she broke when the elite started with an extended middle distance (6,410 meters for women, 7,680 meters for men).

It is not known why Alexandersson was unable to complete the race.

Instead, OK Kåre's Lisa Risby won the women's class with a time of 43.40.

- Great fun, winning is not wrong, says Risby to TT.

- It was very difficult technically and I was very calm, I accepted that I could not go at full speed all the time.

Risby won quite by far as she was 1.58 ahead of runner-up Sara Hagström from IFK Göteborg Orientering.

"Really fun"

Also superior was OK Ravinen's Gustav Bergman, who was just over two minutes ahead of Eskil Kinneberg from OK Kåre.

Bergman's winning time was 42.44.

- Really fun, it was actually my first stage win as a senior.

It was really fun to do it and I haven't run the O-Ring since 2014, it feels really good to be back, says Bergman.

The O-ring, which has been canceled two years in a row due to the pandemic, runs until Saturday.
