It was after just over 25 minutes of play in Saturday's Allsvenskan meeting with Sirius that Mahame Siby got into a head duel and landed badly, on his hip.

The 26-year-old screamed out his pain and a few minutes later was carried out on a stretcher.

Even then it was flagged that it could be a serious injury and now it has been confirmed.

On Sunday, Siby underwent surgery at Skåne University Hospital.

Since then, rehabilitation has begun and the idea is that he will be discharged during the week.

However, there won't be any more games this season.
