The Israeli newspaper, Maariv, revealed an agreement between an Emirati government company and the Israeli Minister of Regional Cooperation, Issawi Freij, to build a new football stadium in the city of Kafr Qassem, which witnessed an Israeli massacre that killed 51 Palestinians.

According to the Israeli press, the UAE will fully finance the construction of the 8,000-seat "Khalifa" stadium, and its implementation is expected to begin in the next few months.

Freej got the green light to build the stadium from Emirati officials, which led to the preparation of implementation plans.

This announcement comes in conjunction with a deal that Minister Freij is trying to conclude between an Emirati businessman close to the Emirati government, and the Israeli Hapoel Club to buy it in full.

Freij told Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, "The economic issue does not represent a problem for the Emirati businessman. We need a large investment here, but there is a political problem here that we must know how to solve."

The Kafr Qassem area has a special impact in the memory of the Palestinians, represented by the Israeli massacre committed by the Israeli "Border Guard" forces in 1956, which resulted in the death of 51 residents of the town, including children, women and the elderly.

The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) stated that on October 29, 1956, the Israeli occupation soldiers opened fire on Palestinians returning to their homes in the village of Kafr Qassem, as Israel took advantage of the world's preoccupation with the tripartite aggression against Egypt and carried out a massacre against the Palestinians.

At the end of the fifties, some of those responsible for the massacre were presented, and all of them were acquitted, except for one called "Shadmi", who was fined only one penny, for his participation in the massacre.

The news of the UAE's funding in full to build a stadium on the ruins of the Palestinian village drew angry reactions on social media.

The tweeters expressed their disapproval of this move, and the tweeter, Kamoud Al-Arabi, asked: "By God, the Emirates, is this permissible? We were hoping that you would adopt an Arab team and create a stadium in it. The UAE is funding the establishment of a football stadium in Israel and wants to buy Hapoel Tel Aviv club."

The tweeter, Abu Salim Abboud, wrote, “Ali’s job, the UAE is funding the establishment of a football stadium in Israel and wants to buy Hapoel Tel Aviv Club, Iowa remains penetration and containment.”

As for the owner of the account, whose name is Roseanne Kabbas, and who identifies herself as a member of the Jewish "Natori Karta" movement, she thanked the UAE for funding the construction of the stadium, and wrote, "Thank you, Emirates of Charity, support for Israel and destruction for the Arabs."

The UAE was the first Gulf country and the third Arab country to normalize relations with Israel, and the signing was brokered by former US President Donald Trump in September 2020. Since the normalization of relations between them, the two sides have signed many agreements in various fields, in addition to exchanging the appointment of ambassadors and visits by officials.

Today, Sunday, occupied Palestine announced an agreement between a government company in the United Arab Emirates and the Minister of Regional Cooperation in the State of Israel, Issawi Freij, to build a football stadium in the city of "Kafr Qassem" in the center of occupied Palestine.
