In December 2020, Köll had a nasty crash in training.

He hurt himself so badly that he still hasn't recovered.

The whiplash injury has affected his vision and now it is clear that his career is over.

- It has been the most difficult decision in my life, but at the same time the easiest.

I have not received the response from the body after the injury that I have needed.

You have to be in 100 percent shape to be able to perform.

Unfortunately, my neck is not, he says and continues:

- In case of higher physical load, the neck shuts down and then I get a negative effect on the eyes.

It doesn't work as it should

Köll has been in the same team as Felix Monsén and the two have both trained and competed together.

- I still have him in Innsbruck (they both live there) so he will be close anyway.

He's just a phone call away.

But of course I will miss him at the competition, says Monsén.
