Paris 2024 has just unveiled its slogan for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, two years almost to the day before the opening ceremony.

By opting for "Let's open the Games wide", the organizing committee is launching an invitation to the whole world and has also communicated on the calendar of events. 

Each sporting event has its own slogan.

That of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games has just been unveiled this Monday at two years almost to the day of the opening ceremony.

"Let's open the Games wide" has therefore been chosen by the organizing committee, which says it wants to "tell an ambition".

That of sending the whole world an invitation "to come and experience new emotions, together. Our Games are the promise of new experiences and thrills", promises Paris 2024 in a press release.

The organizing committee unveiled this slogan through a video that retraces a plethora of sporting events that marked the Games, while including political and societal references.

We see in particular the former Minister of Health, Simone Veil, in the National Assembly at the time of the vote of her law authorizing abortion in 1974.

The schedule revealed

It ends with the traditional Olympic motto "Faster, higher, stronger", which the organizing committee wished to supplement with terms recalling the values ​​it wishes to promote.

“More festive, more moving, more inclusive, more current, fairer …”, can we read in particular.

In addition to this slogan, Paris 2024 has also unveiled the calendar of events.

As tradition dictates, the football tournament will kick off the hostilities on Wednesday July 24, 48 hours before the opening ceremony.

Swordsman Romain Cannone will defend his Olympic title on Sunday July 28.

Judokate Clarisse Agbégnénou will have to wait until July 30 and her counterpart Teddy Riner will aim for a fourth Olympic gold medal on August 2.

Football and basketball will know their outcome on August 10, a day before handball.
