Tonight, Sweden faces Belgium in the European Championship quarter-finals.

In September 2009, the Swedish team played its last match against the Belgians.

At that time, Kosovare Asllani was just in the starting pits of his professional career and would soon take the burden of moving from Sweden and Linköping to the American league and the Chicago Red Stars.

"Didn't even know I played"

How much do you remember from the last match against Belgium?

- I didn't even know I played against Belgium, then this picture appeared (on the national team's social media).

It was incredibly many years ago, it must have been one of my first international matches so no memories at all from it.

But it's positive that I scored, concludes Asllani and laughs.

The attacking star also states how much has happened in her career in the last 13 years.

- Everything from playing in France and England to Spain and now I'm going to play in Italy.

I have developed so much on different levels of my football skills in the countries I have been to.

"Everyone is required to take responsibility"

Kosovare Asllani has assumed the leadership role in the Swedish national team more and more over time.

In the last EC match, against Portugal, she had the role of team captain in Caroline Seger's absence.

Should Seger not get rid of the heel injury she is currently suffering from, "Kosse" can wear the rainbow armband even in the quarter-finals against Belgium.

But as captain, she wants to see that not just one or two players take responsibility out on the pitch.

- It's a quarter-final, it doesn't need to be said more than that and that everyone wants to go on.

But it is required that everyone takes responsibility.

Everyone will have to sharpen up even more, she says and states that Belgium will be a tough opponent.

- The duel will be close to decisive and we also have to speed up the ball and do what we are good at.

There is nothing to save, because we will never win football matches if we think we have already won before we play it.

We have to play at our best to win that game.
