Zamalek succeeded in winning the Egyptian Cup for the 28th time in its history, after defeating its traditional rivals Al-Ahly 2-1, today, Thursday, in the final match of the last season’s edition of the competition.
Zamalek advanced in the sixth minute through Ahmed Sayed Zizou, before Imam Ashour added the second goal in the 30th minute.
In the 55th minute, Hossam Hassan scored Al-Ahly's only goal in the match.
Zamalek's superiority came due to the cunning of Zamalek coach, Josevaldo Ferreira, who managed the match in a great way during the two halves of the match, as his team finished the first half with two clean goals, before resorting to defense in the second half to maintain the result and crown the cup.
Many Zamalek players also starred during the match, led by Ahmed Sayed Zizou, Imam Ashour, Ashraf bin Sharqi and Al Wensh, who made the difference and favored Zamalek.
