Swedish jumper Daniel Ståhl and Simon Pettersson, who took Olympic gold and silver respectively in Tokyo, finished fourth and fifth in the discus final in Eugene.

Ståhl has struggled a bit with form before the championship and did not reach his full capacity either.

Afterwards, he was not too down.

- I got in there and enjoyed and had fun.

I felt no pressure or anything.

It's been a long time since I felt that way.

It was absolutely wonderful.

I tried to do the best I could.

Now I have become fifth, fourth, second and first at the World Cup.

Maybe I can get a bronze in the future, we'll see, he says.

Instead, it was 23-year-old Kristjan Ceh who won the gold.

Behind him, 19-year-old Mykolas Alekna finished in silver.

The development within the discus since Ståhl positively on.

- Incredibly fun that the young guys are starting to enter the industry and take their first global medal.

It's great for the sport.

It is traction aid and motivates me incredibly much for the future, he says.
