Administratively downgraded to National, Bordeaux still hopes to be able to play in Ligue 2 next season.

The Girondins have been rejected twice by the National Management Control Department.

The Girondins de Bordeaux are playing their future this Thursday.

Administratively demoted to National, i.e. to the third division, Bordeaux still hopes to be able to play in Ligue 2 football next season.

The club is auditioned this afternoon by the French National Olympic and Sports Committee, the CNOSF.

It has been twice that the Girondins have been rejected by the National Management Control Directorate, the DNCG.

For Bordeaux, this Thursday undoubtedly marks the hearing of the last chance.

But the president of the Girondins Gérard Lopez remains confident.

First, he has just obtained a judgment approving his rescue plan.

The Bordeaux commercial court considers that the club is not in a state of insolvency and can restart in Ligue 2. The Girondins have reduced their debt by 75% and 24 million euros have been placed in receivership.

200 employees concerned

Finally, the club is supported by many personalities, including the mayor of the city, Pierre Hurmic.

"The Girondins are also 200 employees. Can an organization like the DNCG arrogate the right to say overnight: 'Listen, I am putting an end to this life as an employee,' he asks.

"I think we have to try everything to try to change the brutality of this decision", assures the city councilor at the microphone of Europe 1.

If the French National Olympic and Sports Committee gives a favorable opinion, Bordeaux will not be guaranteed to play in Ligue 2 next season.

We will have to wait for the final decision of the executive committee of the French Football Federation.

Previously, only two clubs obtained a favorable judgment after a passage before the CNOSF: Nice and Lens.
