One of the young talents of Russian football, 17-year-old Krylia Sovetov midfielder Sergei Pinyaev, ended up in the hospital.

As Sport-Express reported on Wednesday, the athlete fell during training on the lawn, and grass got into his lung.

According to the publication, after that the player became ill, his arm was paralyzed, and he was taken to intensive care.

However, this information raised doubts among doctors, who noted that the ingress of a foreign object into the lung could not provoke problems with the limbs.

“A blade of grass in the lung cannot paralyze the arm,” sports doctor Liu Hongsheng is quoted as saying by Sport-Express.

- To do this, they do an artificial cleaning of the lungs, usually after this they quickly return.

But if it's really a hand injury, it will take several months to recover."

The specialist emphasized that it is unlikely that there will be a question of ending a career.

The doctor of the First Moscow State Medical University named after Sechenov, in turn, suggested that the football player had injured his chest, as a result of which one or more lung alveoli burst.

“The air came out of the lung, squeezed it from the outside.

In this situation, it is impossible to take a breath, so respiratory failure develops: the level of oxygen in the blood drops and cerebral ischemia may develop.

This, in turn, leads to impaired movement, ”the specialist said in an interview with RT.

Later, sources familiar with the situation clarified: the player had an X-ray examination of the lungs and was diagnosed with pneumothorax.

This is the accumulation of air in the pleural cavity, which leads to the collapse of the lung.

It can spontaneously appear due to trauma or medical intervention.

As the doctor of the Spartak Academy, Nikita Karlitsky, explained, this condition occurs in athletes in two cases.

The first is a strong blow to the ribs, after which the lung is damaged by fragments.

“This rarely happens in football, but“ anything can happen ”is the rule of a sports doctor - usually when falling on the field, a fracture of the ribs without displacement, like a crack,” Karlitsky quotes the “Championship”.

The second option is also rare, but, according to the expert, the most likely situation: congenital or acquired pathology of the lungs.

It can be small in size, so it cannot be detected during standard examinations that athletes undergo every six months, the physician explained.

“In general, before the official version, we can speculate.

The case, however, is very unusual, and we have little information.

As for the recovery time, it is difficult to say here, because everything depends on the pathology.

Perhaps the pathology can close itself, maybe an operation is needed.

I think that this is not a few weeks, but months and more.

It all depends on the final diagnosis, ”the specialist emphasized.

Sports doctor Valentin Belyavsky clarified that the further condition and recovery of a football player depends on the cause of the disease.

“If this is a spontaneous primary option, then it does not affect anything at all.

A few days - and the player will return to normal workloads.

If traumatic, then you need to look at the size of the pneumothorax.

Whether the lung fell heavily, whether it is unilateral or not.

If the form is severe, then intervention may be required - the air is pumped out with a syringe, sometimes a catheter is inserted, ”Match TV quotes a specialist.

According to the official statement of the Wings of the Soviets, the footballer felt unwell during training on Tuesday, July 19, after which he was sent for examination.

Now the midfielder of Samarans is in the clinic of the State Medical University under the supervision of specialists.

“The information that Pinyaev was taken from training to intensive care, as well as problems with his hand, is not true.

The situation is under the control of the medical headquarters, ”the message says.

In turn, the head of the medical service of the Samara team, Kyuri Chachaev, stressed that Sergei feels well.

“He doesn’t lie in any intensive care unit, as they say.

Tomorrow there will be a consultation of doctors, where everything will be decided.

There is nothing wrong, ”said a representative of the Wings on Wednesday.

Subsequently, this was confirmed by the athlete himself.

On social networks, he posted a message in which he urged not to believe false information.

“I would like to express my gratitude to all those who expressed support and concerns for my health.

Despite all the slander in the media, I will come back stronger, special thanks to the fans of Krylia Sovetov,” wrote Pinyaev.

What happened to the young football player caused serious concern among both fans and professionals.

For example, the ex-striker of the Russian national team Alexander Mostovoy called for a thorough understanding of the causes of Pinyaev's illness.

"This is serious.

The guy is 17 years old.

If this happens, you need to urgently conduct an examination.

It is clear that such an episode cannot occur at 17 years of age.

It's terrible, scary!

The main thing is that he recovers.

God forbid that there is something there, for example, some kind of illness or something else.

Of course, we are all with him.

Especially a young guy, 17 years old.

I started at that age myself.

I know what it is, ”Sport-Express quotes Mostovoy.

In Russian football, there has already been one case of a similar disease - Tosno striker Ante Vukusic.

The player had had back pain for several years, similar in symptoms to intercostal neuralgia.

A thorough examination revealed that he had advanced pneumothorax.

The Croatian was sent for an operation, during which the upper part of the lung was removed.

His recovery took several months, and he never played in the Russian Premier League.

But later Vukusic returned to form and even became the top scorer of the Slovenian championship, scoring 26 goals in the 2019/20 season.
