Luis Martinez, 58, is one of the well-known coaches in Portugal at the junior level, as he began his career in the youth teams of Sporting Lisbon, which is among the most prominent in the continent of Europe, where Martinez trained Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo in the junior team, and played under his leadership many Among the international players for Portugal, such as Luis Nani and Joao Moutinho.

The Portuguese coach worked in many clubs and with a number of international coaches in the position of assistant coach, as his most prominent stations were with Portuguese coach Andre Villas-Boas in Tottenham from July 2012 to December 2013 in 80 matches, then he moved with the same coach to the Russian team Zenit. He played 101 matches with him, while he previously worked with the Saudi national team after the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, where Martinez worked with Portuguese Jose Peseiro, Dutchman Frank Rijkaard and Saudi Nasser Al-Johar in the leadership of Al-Akhdar.

Luis Martinez returned to Sporting Lisbon in 2016 to work as director of the Portuguese club's academy and coached the second team from February 2017 to June 2018, then led the U-23 team for a short period. Last season.
