Portugal's national team captain Francisco Neto emphasizes the Swedish favorite ahead of the third group game against Portugal.

- We know that it is not easy, we are humble before we play against one of the world's best teams, he says.

- But we are there to compete.

We showed it in the first two matches and hope to be able to show it tomorrow as well, he continues.

Portugal's women's national team is young in this context and has taken great strides in recent years.

The team qualified for the European Championships by getting Russia's place and only eight years ago the majority of the players were amateurs.

"Enormous for us"

Therefore, it is a victory in itself to play on the EC stage, says Neto.

And therefore Portugal only has to win in the match against Sweden, nothing to lose.

- Playing here is huge for us.

People in Portugal follow us and are proud.

The most important thing for us is that people like to see us play matches, recognize our players, that little girls in Portugal want to play football because they are inspired by our team.

- I think that if they do not win the match tomorrow, it will be tougher for Sweden than for us.

Especially for the media and the supporters.

We want to compete and try to reach the next level.

But of course, if our players are organized and compete, I will be proud - regardless of results.

"We will not grow overnight"

Neto points out fixed situations as one of Sweden's strengths, and also says that they have not chosen to focus on any individual Swedish player.

- If we focus on one player, we lose the match.

We must focus on all players and be very united tomorrow, says the national team captain to SVT Sport.

Compared to the Swedish national team, the Portuguese team is short in length, which can be a problem in certain situations, he points out.

- Our girls are short and will not grow overnight.

We need to be focused and concentrated and better in certain situations.
