The youth basketball team achieves its first victory in the Arab Championship

The national youth team defeated its Saudi counterpart (72-59) in its current participation in the Arab Under-18 Basketball Championship, which is currently being held at Al-Zohour Club Hall in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, and extends until July 21.

The young "white" against Saudi Arabia managed to restore the winning tone, and compensate for its loss in the opening match last Friday night against the Qatari team, by (74-86). 

The competitions of the second day of the tournament, yesterday, also witnessed the Algerian team's victory over the host Egyptian team (76-73), and the Qatari team's victory over the Kuwaiti team (83-72).

The Saudi team gave up the opportunity to finish the first quarter ahead of the UAE team (19-14), after the second quarter scored a tie in performance and result (16-16), before the "Al-Abyad" players regained their balance and succeeded in imposing their rhythm during the course of the second half. And extended their absolute advantage over the results of the third and fourth quarters by (22-6 and 20-18) and winning the match.

At the end of the second round, the Algerian and Qatari teams topped the overall standings with four points each, a point ahead of the UAE and Egypt teams, and the Kuwaiti and Saudi teams share the last place.
