The Japan Sumo Association has announced that it has been confirmed that Ozeki and Mitakeumi have been infected with the new coronavirus.

Mitakeumi was closed with other wrestlers in the room from the 16th, the 7th day of the Nagoya location, because a person infected with the new coronavirus was confirmed in the Dewanoumi stable to which he belongs.

According to the Sumo Association, when the people involved in the Dewanoumi stable underwent a PCR test all at once on the 16th, a positive result for Mitakeumi was confirmed.

No positives were found in other parties in the room.

Mitakeumi was greeted by a corner turn that fell from Ozeki when he lost the place now, and after the 6th day yesterday, it was 2 wins and 4 losses.

Regarding the ranking of Mitakeumi's place of visit, Judge Isegahama of the Japan Sumo Association said, "We will consider it together after the place is over," and expressed his intention to consider it after the place.
