Officially... Chelsea announces the signing of the best African defender

Chelsea announced today, Saturday, the signing of Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly, who came from Napoli, on a 4-year contract.

Coulibaly is the second player to join Chelsea this summer, after he previously signed the English international winger Raheem Sterling. The Senegalese player is the best defender in Africa and one of the best defenders in world football. The official Chelsea website described him as "a wonderful reader of the game, and skilled in Possession, comfortable taking the ball or playing forward passes to put his team in attack."

"I am very happy to be here with this team at Chelsea, it is a world-class team, and it has always been my dream to play in the Premier League," Coulibaly told Chelsea's website.

He added: "Chelsea first of all wanted me in 2016 but we didn't succeed, now when they came to me I accepted, because they really wanted me to come to the Premier League to play with them."

He added, "When I spoke to my good friends Edu (Edward Mindy) and Jorginho, they made my choice easier, so I'm really happy to be with you today."

"I want to thank the fans because I saw so many of them in London and on the plane, everyone was happy to be with me, and I hope that the season will be really good and we will give the fans some good moments."
