The battle promised to be immense, it kept all its promises.

Opposed for the first time since 2017, the two great figures of ultra-trail Kilian Jornet and François D'Haene fought a grandiose duel throughout the 160 km of the Hardrock 100, one of the toughest races in the world. 160 kilometers with 10,000 meters of elevation gain in Colorado (United States).

It was finally the Spaniard who won this Saturday morning in 21 hours and 36 minutes, thus beating the record set by the Frenchman last year (21 hours and 45 minutes).

Kilian Jornet (NNormal) wins the 2022 Hardrock 100 in 21:36:24.

He breaks François D'Haene's overall course record of 21:45:50 set last year.

It was long believed that the two men would arrive together at the famous rock marking the finish.

They were still together 25 kilometers from the goal, at 10:15 a.m., but Jornet finished stronger.

D'Haene took second place, 15 minutes behind his competitor.

After 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017, this is the fifth time that Kilian Jornet has taken part in the legendary American race.
