- It would have been a fantastic closing performance if the USA and Allyson Felix had to take gold, but now it did not happen, says SVT Sports expert Christian Olsson.

However, 36-year-old Felix, the most deserving American athlete, was pleased to receive a medal and smiled into the American flag shortly after the finish line.

Out of nowhere, the Dominican Republic's Fiordaliza Cofil gained new strength and passed Simon, who was also passed by a strong finisher Femke Bol for the Netherlands.

Felix had taken the lead on the second leg but was passed by the strong Marileidy Paulino who was able to give the Dominican Republic the lead before leg three.

Felix's last race of her career will be a race in her hometown of Los Angeles next month.
