If the French swimmer Léon Marchand has just been crowned double world champion (end of June 2022 in Budapest), he owes it, by his own admission, to a mental preparation which allowed him "to finally grow as a human ".

And to explode, for our most cocky pleasure, the competition in the pools!

“Leon will be number one in the world in a year or two”

At just 20 years old, the great hope of French swimming has therefore “passed a milestone” by working with mental trainer Thomas Sammut.

The latter is also convinced that his protege will be “world number one within a year or two: before, he was afraid of doing wrong, he was swimming with this bad energy and it was not necessarily going well.

We worked hard on it, the result is there”.

There is a before and an after for the young champion: “Not long ago, I didn't like myself, I felt shy and that was a disadvantage.

Now it's more of a strength, it allows me to transcend myself, to really be aware of my strengths, my qualities… and it's easier to stay focused on yourself when you love each other.

His keyword?

" Pleasure !

Because when I'm having fun, I can do whatever I want, I no longer have any limits”.
