It will probably take a strong second round for the Swedes to continue playing the major.
American Cameron Young leads the competition after going the first round of 64 strokes and is a total of eight under par.
In second place is Rory McIlroy, two strokes behind Young, at six under par.
Tiger Woods has also had a shaky start to the competition.
The American is well down in the results list of five over par.
