Three years later, the World Championships in Athletics in 2025 has been decided by the International Federation of Athletics to be held in Tokyo.

This will be the third time to be held in Japan, following Tokyo in 1991 and Osaka in 2007.

This was decided by the World Athletics Federation's board meeting held on the 14th in Oregon, USA.



The Japan Association of Athletics Federations proposed to hold the event at the National Stadium, which was used as the main stadium for the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, in order to invite the 2025 World Championships, and was running for the race last year.



In May, the World Athletics Federation's evaluation committee visited the site, and the Japan Sports Agency's Secretary of State Koji Murofushi and Governor Koike of Tokyo were appealing, and it was positioned as part of the Olympic legacy.



The venue for the 2025 World Championships will be the National Stadium, and details such as the competition schedule will be adjusted.



In Japan's track and field, in addition to Sani Brown Abdul Hakim, who has a record of 9 seconds at 100 meters for men, Ryuji Miura, who has a 3000 meters steeplechase for men, and Nozomi Tanaka, who is a long-distance runner for women. Players in their early twenties, such as players and Ririka Hironaka, are leading the way, and they are expected to play an active role in the world championships three years from now.
