Egyptian Hossam El-Badri, coach of Algeria's ES Setif

Algerian media reported today, Tuesday, that ES Setif reached an agreement with Egyptian coach Hossam El Badry to lead the team for a period of two years.

Ibrahim Al-Arbawi, sports director of ES Setif, told APS that the agreement was officially signed with the 62-year-old former coach of Egypt's national team, to succeed Serbian Darko Novic.

Setif finished last season in seventh place in the Algerian league, despite reaching the semi-finals of the African Champions League and losing to Al-Ahly of Egypt.

El-Badri was sacked from training Egypt last year after severe criticism of his poor performance, although he has not suffered a defeat since taking office in 2019.

Al-Badri trained Al-Ahly in three periods, winning the Egyptian Premier League three times and the 2012 African Champions League, among other titles.

And he went through two experiences outside Egypt with the Sudanese Mars, and won the local league with him in 2011, and he also trained Al-Ahly Tripoli, Libya in 2013.
