Several European Championship players have tested positive for covid-19, among them Dutch midfielder Jackie Gronen, who played the entire match against Sweden.

Despite this, the Swedish national team on Monday organized a lunch with their relatives, about 20 on site, after training.

- Yesterday I was at their hotel, informed about the situation and tested everyone.

We have both tested and given them information, that if they have symptoms, they should not come here, says national team doctor Houman Ebrahimi.

- Everyone who enters the hotel and our surfaces are tested to minimize the risk of infection.

"Minimized risk"

When asked if it is worth the risk, Ebrahimi answers:

- We take the low risk for this, being able to meet their loved ones can have a positive effect as well.

Precisely these measures have meant that we minimize the risk.

After the premiere against the Netherlands, the Swedish players took the time to visit and thank their supporters.

Several other measures

Now the players will be more restrictive in getting close to the supporters.

- We have thought of not signing any autographs, but they can take pictures from a distance with us.

But they can go forward and greet.

We will have a gap of about 1.5 meters, it is also a short time to integrate, when you talk about this with close contact, it should be for 15 minutes to be counted as direct contact, says Ebrahimi.

The Swedish players have not been tested on Monday, but all have had to fill in questionnaires about their physical status, where no one stated that they had symptoms.
