The World Cup for Sport Climbing and Reed was held in France, and 22-year-old male player Daiharu Homma came in second and was on the podium following the previous tournament where he won his first victory.

The sport climbing lead is an event that competes for the height of climbing the wall, and will be held as one of the "complexes" that compete for the overall results of the second event at the Paris Olympics two years later.

The third round of the World Cup this season was held in France on the 10th, and the men's and women's finals were contested by nine men.

The 22-year-old Homma, who won the World Cup for the first time in the previous tournament, climbed to a high altitude with a stable climb using the power of his entire body and reached near the goal.

At altitude, he was in line with the winning Czech player Adam Ondra, but Homma came in second in the semi-final rankings and was on the podium for the second consecutive tournament.

18-year-old Tomone Yoshida was in 9th place.

On the other hand, the girls were in a high-level battle where four of the eight who advanced to the final climbed the wall to the end.

18-year-old Natsuki Tanii, who was the only Japanese player to advance to the final, went up steadily, but she couldn't get the last hold and she was in 5th place.

The winner was Janja Garnbret, a gold medalist from the Tokyo Olympics and Slovenia, who showed stable strength with three consecutive victories since the opening round.

Homma "I want to do my best to win the year"

Daiharu Homma, who finished second in the World Cup for sports climbing and lead, said, "I am very happy to be on the podium for two consecutive tournaments."

He recalled that he couldn't reach the goal in just one step, "I felt like I had a good hold on the last hold, but I couldn't get to the end because of the limit."

He said with enthusiasm for the rest of the World Cup tournament, which will enter the second half of the game, "I'm in a very good condition right now, so I'll do my best to win the year."
