Rikard Norling took over the role of head coach for last season.

After finishing in place seven in his first year, things have gone much worse in recent times.

As recently as last Saturday, they lost the lead to a draw against Degerfors, and have only taken four victories in 13 matches.

"Need to change"

Now IFK chooses to go their separate ways with Norling.

On its website, it is written that "in addition to bringing in additional players under our upcoming window, we believe that it is a necessity to also change the head coach".

Other coaches fired this year

The club themselves state that they have not yet finished with a new coach.

Norling is just the second Allsvenskan coach to be fired this season.

First out was Helsingborg who got rid of Jörgen Lennartsson.
