Old people out.

Roger Federer and Serena Williams have lost their last points acquired at Wimbledon, in 2021, after the latest update of the ATP and WTA rankings.

No points were distributed in London this year.

The two tennis legends (43 Grand Slam titles between them) are paying dearly for their repeated injuries and the inexorable approach of retirement from sport.

Roger Federer appeared in the ATP rankings in 1997 and never left him.

He has not yet officially hung up and intends to return to the Laver Cup in September, before lining up in Basel at the end of October.

He also repeated his intention to play a new (last?) time at Wimbledon.

But his recalcitrant right knee makes the task complicated.

Serena Williams at the US Open?

Serena Williams, she played at Wimbledon.

1204th in the world at the start of the tournament, she was beaten from the start by Harmony Tan.

But the American intends to do it again at the US Open, where she will give herself a chance to make her return to the WTA rankings.

Times are tough for the tennis demigods.
