23-year-old Mikael Ymer had a wildcard to Båstad where the men's tournament starts on Monday.

Mikael, 93rd in the world rankings, however, chose to say no with the following motivation:

- The reason why I do not play in Båstad is the same reason why Zlatan does not play in the Allsvenskan, he told Tennisportalen in connection with Wimbledon.

Big brother Elias Ymer, 26, was asked about his brother's Båstadnobb at a press conference ahead of Monday's meeting with German Daniel Altmaier.

"Hope he has a thought behind"

- I know Mikael, I hope he knows what he is doing.

I hope he has a thought behind it.

It's a shame for the competition… but… you can talk to him about that, says Elias to Helsingborgs Dagblad.

Competition manager Magnus Norman has previously commented on the situation.

- He has had a lot of chances, a lot of wildcards and a lot of financial support from Swedish tennis, so it is sad that he does not choose to play, Norman told Expressen recently.

Elias Ymer is 134th in the world rankings.
