A weak Hammarby met a strong IFK Gothenburg who had won three matches in a row.

But it would be Hammarby who pulled the longest straw in the match and won by far with 3-0.

It was the home team that started the match intensely and had the best and most goal chances in the first half.

Hammarby dominated

With 8 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 1 - 0 lead as Joel Nilsson flipped the ball in after a cross from the right.

It would be one of many attacks by Hammarby.

A controversial moment in the penalty area 33 minutes into the match gave IFK Göteborg's Gustaf Norlin a chance to increase the lead, and he did not disappoint.

But the management goal would come in the end.

After 43 minutes, Nahir Besara sent a free kick in high over the penalty box.

That was his fifth goal of the season.

- That's the feeling (at the end), you just know that it will go in.

It felt like I had passed a few times before when I could have shot, so this time I shot, Nahir Besara told Discovery + during the break.

A depressed IFK Gothenburg tried several times during the half against a high-pressure home team without creating a few hundred percent goal chances.

The extension came immediately

The second half only had time to start before 2-0 to Hammarby came.

After 49 minutes, Björn Paulsen sent a free kick in high over the penalty box.

Significantly, 53 minutes into the game, IFK Göteborg had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came Davir Blazevic.

With three substitutions, coach Mikael Stahre tried to wake up his team, but it would not be enough.

Hammarby continued to steam ahead and even 3-0 would come.

The substitute striker Astrit Selmani was pulled down in the penalty area and the referee pointed to the penalty spot.

Selmani, who is still starting on the bench, then rolled the ball himself behind the guests' Dutch goalkeeper Warner Hahn and thus determined the final result 3-0.

 - Incredibly nice.

I have worked hard, I have felt that I was in good shape in training so it is nice that it rewards itself with a goal but above all that we take a victory like this, says Astrit Selmani to Discovery + after the match.

On Sunday, Hammarby will face top competitor Elfsborg at home and IFK Gothenburg will host Mjällby.
