A unique family atmosphere at the Wimbledon men's singles final

The men's singles final of the English Open (Wimbledon), which took place on Sunday between Serbian Novak Djokovic and Australian Nick Kyrgios, enjoyed a unique family atmosphere.

Prince George, son of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, watched his first-ever match in the four major Grand Slam competitions, while Djokovic's daughter waved to her father as he celebrated winning the championship.

Djokovic won the seventh Wimbledon title in his career with the white game, and the fourth in a row, after defeating Kyrgios in an exciting final today in the main court of the tournament.

Djokovic shared some beautiful moments with his wife and daughter after the match when he gave an interview on the field, after the meeting, with Sue Parker, the BBC presenter.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who watched the match from the royal cabin, also had a family day, bringing their 8-year-old son George.

After Kate Middleton presented the Djokovic and Kyrgios awards, the Serbian star waved to his family and team and thanked them for their support during his interview with Parker.

The British news agency (BA Media) quoted Djokovic's statements after the match, saying, "My family, my parents are here, my daughter is here too, okay."

Djokovic's 4-year-old daughter, Tara, was seen sitting on her mother's knee, Jelena, as she waved at her father.

"She hasn't crossed the five-year mark yet, so she hasn't been allowed to watch the match live, but next year I hope she can watch her dad play live if she's interested in tennis, which she doesn't do much," Djokovic said.

Wimbledon regulations state that children under the age of five are not allowed in stadiums to watch matches live if they cause a disturbance.

"My son is the only one I'm missing because I think he's playing one of the groups against Bob Bryan's son at the moment, because that's what they've been doing in the last few days," Djokovic added.

Djokovic's seven-year-old son, Stefan, was seen training with his father during the tournament, with the Serbian player telling reporters he was "fond of tennis".

Parker reminded Djokovic that today is his wedding anniversary, saying: "Oh my God, I'll buy you flowers then, you keep reminding me of the things I might have a lot of problems with if I forgot."

Djokovic directed his speech to his wife, before pointing to the cup jokingly: "Dear, happy wedding anniversary .. this is my gift."

After leaving the center court, the Wimbledon champion stopped to chat with Prince George and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Djokovic was brought to the VIP cabin of the All England Club, in the British capital, London, where he handed the men's singles trophy to eight-year-old George.

Kate continued touching the lid to keep it in place, as George turned the cup up so he could get a closer look, while his father, Prince William, also told him 'Don't drop it'.

Djokovic spoke with members of the royal family for several minutes, and talked about how their sons are of the same age, before they shook hands.

Ahead of the final, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge greeted boys and girls ball bearers, as well as members of the military with Prince George at the Millennium Building.
