Sultan Al Qasimi directs the disbursement of 6 million dirhams to organize the camel racing festival


His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, directed the disbursement of 6 million dirhams to organize a festival for camel racing in “Al Dhaid Square” under the patronage of His Highness, during the 2022/2023 season, and “His Highness’s honor comes as part of his continuous support for the sports sector in the Emirate of Sharjah.” By reviving sports, organizing its events, supporting athletes, and providing a distinctive environment for practicing various activities.”

In a statement, the Sharjah Sports Council extended its "highest thanks and appreciation to His Highness for his generous gift," where the Chairman of the Council, Issa Hilal Al-Hazzami, expressed "the gratitude of the athletes and enthusiasts of heritage sports for the award," stressing that "it is an important qualitative addition to sports and athletes in Sharjah, and will enhance the ancient Arab heritage. for camel racing in the UAE,” and said that “the council will coordinate with the Sharjah Camel Racing Club to enrich the season with festival races and provide the ingredients for success at all levels.” 

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Camel Racing Club, Matar Ali bin Howaiden, expressed his "thanks and appreciation to the people of camels and lovers of this sport for His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for his generous generosity and support for reviving the heritage of fathers and grandfathers," stressing that "this is not strange to His Highness," stressing that " His Highness’s patronage of the festival will guarantee him all the reasons for success, and that the club will start scheduling the festival’s races to be included in the activities of the Sharjah Sports Council to ensure that it does not interfere with other activities and ensure the mass attendance of the races.”
