The match was temporarily suspended due to rain in the second set, at the score 3-1 in the game to Lauren Davis.

The 102-ranked American won the first set 6-3 and put pressure on the 96-ranked Peterson at the Swede's home ground.

The break did not help Peterson reload and come back.

Instead, she lost three games and won only one.

The set numbers were written to 6–3, 6–2.

Last week, Rebecca Peterson was eliminated in Wimbledon's first round.

She already has two titles on the WTA Tour, both won in China, from the fall of 2019.

This time it stopped in the quarterfinals for the 26-year-old from Stockholm.

With that, she became the best Swede in the home tournament, when Miriam Björklund and Caisa Hennemann went out in the round of 16.
