Anel Ahmedhodzic, 23, has spent the spring on loan at French Ligue 1 club Bordeaux.

However, there will be no return to Malmö FF for the midfielder.

On Wednesday, the news came that Malmö has agreed with the English club Sheffield United on a permanent transfer regarding the defender.

- Anel has been in Malmö FF almost his entire football career, so that he leaves us in pain at the same time as I think we should be proud that one of our youth players goes all the way and becomes one of our biggest sales.

We of course wish him good luck in England and do not say goodbye but goodbye, says Malmö's sports director Andreas Georgson in a statement.

Won two Swedish Championship golds

Ahmedhodzic has previous experience from games in England when he left Malmö as a 17-year-old to play in Nottingham Forest 2016. However, that stay was only a short break in the second highest series.

In 2019, he returned to Malmö FF and the defender has been involved and won two Swedish Championship golds with the club.
