Sweden is second behind the USA in Fifa's world ranking and thus the highest ranked European team in this summer's championship.

Statistics Gracenote's simulation, in which they predict the outcome no less than a million times using data from Fifa's world rankings to estimate the results of each potential match scenario during the tournament, also shows that Blue Yellow enters the tournament with a favorite.

The probability that Caroline Seger, as team captain, will be able to lift the trophy on Wembley's lawn on July 31 is 18 percent according to the statistics bureau - that is about one in five times.

- I spontaneously think that figure is quite reasonable, maybe a little high.

It's a tough championship to win.

Many tough matches and extremely small margins.

Sweden is one of those teams, so absolutely reasonable, says SVT's expert Markus Johannesson.

Home ground great advantage

Only England, despite their sixth place in the world rankings, have greater opportunities when the simulation did its thing.

In 21 percent probability, England will win their home European Championship.

Gracenote emphasizes that home ground provides a great advantage in the simulation.

They would only be the sixth most likely winner if the competition was played in a neutral country.

- If they get the flow at the beginning of the tournament and get the audience with them, it is a huge advantage for them.

It is a strong team with many good players in good teams in Europe.

If they get off to a bad start against Norway, it could upset them.

I have seen English national teams give way before.

Then it will not be so easy to wrestle with that favorite.

Surprised that home ground versus neutral ground will be so decisive in the simulation around England?

- They should not be ranked sixth in advance - at home or not.

It is unreasonable that they have been ranked sixth without a home ground.

That number is wrong.

This is a very good national team.

Believe a lot in Norway

Anything else that stands out in the favorite?

(see fact box for all national teams' chances of winning)

- France is a really hot candidate.

They are good!

If they get the team together, they become hyper-dangerous and difficult to stop.

They are better than the other teams individually.

Then I believe a lot in Norway.

They are better than four percent.

Norway is good, really sharp going forward if they can keep their key players healthy.
