At the start of the race at Silverstone, five cars collided at once: Briton George Russell from Mercedes, Chinese Guanyu Zhou from Alpha Romeo, Japanese Yuki Tsunoda from Alpha Tauri, Frenchman Esteban Okon from Alpine and Briton Alex Albon from Williams got into an accident.

Zhou suffered the most, as his car overturned and hit the guardrails.
