In the 2018/2019 season, A3 Basket Umeå won the Swedish Championship gold and last season the team went to the semifinals.

But until next season, the team will not be part of SBL Dam.

On its website, the Swedish Basketball Association, SBBF, announces that A3 is withdrawing from the series.

"The Swedish Basketball Association has recently conducted a dialogue with A3 Basket about the association's financial situation, which includes large debts to the Swedish Tax Agency."

In connection with this, a number of demands have been placed on the club regarding the reporting of the whole, and also regarding the future.

SBBF has requested an overall picture of the association's debt situation, a budget, and an organizational / sports plan for the future.

This information would form the basis for a board decision on whether A3 would be allowed to participate in SBL Dam next season.

A3 Basket has not given feedback on any of the issues raised, but has instead on 30/6 announced that they choose to withdraw from the team from SBL Dam ", the association writes on its website.

SBBF also announces that the league will consist of eleven teams in the 2022/23 season.

Umeå will be the fourth club to withdraw from SBL women for the coming season.

Helsingborg, Wetterbygden and Borås have already done the same.

Newly started Sjuhärad then got a place in Borås.
