Östersund has since 1999 arranged several championships in curling, including the WC in mixed doubles 2018.
It was thought that Russia would be the organizer of the European Championships 2023, but due to the country's invasion of Ukraine, they were deprived of the championship.
Now SVT Sport experiences that Östersund is awarded the tournament instead.
