Jacob Hård remembers ten strong sports moments from his years as a sports journalist.

He has dug into the archives and done new interviews.

These sporting moments become stories that are put in a new light.

In the series "Hard stories" Armand Duplantis now looks back on his incomparable European Championship gold in Berlin.

In most championships, 5.95 in the first attempt had been a gold jump.

But August 12, 2018 was no ordinary night.

"Is this for real?"

When the bar is raised to the dream limit of six meters, four pole vaulters are left in the final - the then 18-year-old Armand Duplantis is one of them.

And Duplantis managed six meters - in the first attempt.

- It felt completely crazy after that, I celebrated - it was the best moment of my life.

It was wonderful for about two minutes.

After Duplantis, it is time for the Russian Timur Morgunov to try to lean over the crossbar - and he also managed six meters straight.

- I looked up at the scoreboard and it was me and him in first place.

"Is this for real?"

I managed six meters in the first attempt and I am in shared first place, says Duplantis in "Hard stories".

When the bar is raised to 6.05, Duplantis picks out a rod he has never used before.

"What separates a good pole vaulter from a great one"

- It was the biggest stick I had in my bag.

You do not know what it will do, but it's a mental game.

I trust myself, I trust the pole, I trust that my dad made sure I had the right pole at the right moment for the right height.

- That is what distinguishes a good pole vaulter from a great one.

For some can not handle it, they do not have enough self-confidence and belief in themselves to be able to do so.

- I forgot what I did after 6.05, the rest of the evening is blank for me.

It was so unreal that I could not understand it.
