Isac Nordström, with the map reader Karl-Johan Borhammar, led by 1.4 seconds before the second and decisive final heat in Linköping and had the margins on his side.

Shortly before the finish, he lost control of the car and drove into a tire barrier, but managed not to stand still.

With a wounded car, he crossed the finish line, 0.4 seconds ahead of runner-up Daniel Röjsel.

- We embarrassed a little hard and bounced out.
