Jule Niemeier managed a big surprise at the grass classic in Wimbledon.

The 22-year-old from Dortmund easily defeated second-seeded Anett Kontaveit from Estonia in just 58 minutes 6-4, 6-0 and was the first German tennis pro to reach the third round.

In her first duel with a top ten player, Niemeier showed a very strong performance and dominated the third in the world rankings in the second set at will.

For her greatest success in a Grand Slam, Niemeier collects more than 138,000 euros and now meets Anhelina Kalinina or Lessia Zurenko from Ukraine.
