The reigning champion Malmö strengthens the squad with a midfielder.

25-year-old Mahame Siby has signed for the club, MFF announces on its website.

- In general, we are looking for players who can fit our identity.

We want to be more intense and for the team to be a strong unit.

We think he fits into it, says MFF's sports director Andreas Georgson in a press release.

Siby connects most closely from French Strasbourg.

Last year he was loaned to Ligue 2 club Paris FC.

The contract with MFF is signed for 4.5 years.

According to Foot Mercato, which previously reported on the deal, the Swedish big club pays one million euros, equivalent to around ten million kronor, for the player.

Malmö will face Sundsvall on Friday.
