36-year-old Felix won his first Olympic medal in Athens in 2004 and has since won 11 Olympic medals (7 gold) and 18 World Cup medals (13 gold).

On the upcoming World Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, she finished sixth in the 400 meters in a time of 51.24 (Sydney McLauglin ran 51.41 with hurdles) and the World Cup should be an unattainable goal.

But she would like to be part of defending the mixed gold in the 4x400 meters from Doha 2019 in the first outdoor World Cup on American soil.

- I think I am in a good position to maybe run the mixed relay, says Felix who will run his last competition in his hometown of Los Angeles in August according to Reuters.

"Nothing left that I need to do"

She can look back on an incomparable career and is grateful for what she has experienced.

- There's nothing left that I need to do.

For the first time, I feel that there is no struggle within me, as it has been.

I could only be grateful to watch all these amazing athletes.

Felix has made a name for himself in the debate and not least women's rights.

Before Felix ran in the semifinals, the US Supreme Court overturned the decision on the right to free abortion.

- Every time women's rights are put out of play is a sad day, says Felix.

400 meters was a weak branch for the ladies.

Talitha Diggs won in 50.22.

Among the men, Michael Norman won the world best of 43.56 (only six runners have run faster than that time through the ages).

He was close to his personal record of 43.45 from 2019.
