Amanda Ilestedt went from Bayern Munich to PSG before the season - she did not know then that the club would soon end up in the eye of the media storm.

The Swedish defender has so far been careful in her statements about her club team, and when SVT Sport during the European Championship camp in Båstad asks about the time in Paris, she is still speechless.

- It has been turbulent and not optimal really, but we have made the best of it and have tried to do what we can and perform in the matches.

And I think we have done well, she says.

Have you done this, maybe you're even looking at a new club address?

- No, I have a contract for next season at PSG.

PSG star Kheira Hamraoui was suspended

The turbulence has not least revolved around the team's midfield star Kheira Hamraoui.

In the autumn, she was beaten by two masked men - something that was of course traumatic and which a teammate was first accused of being behind, but later acquitted when the case began to be investigated legally.

Since then, the French media has continued to report on cracks in the team and on quarrels between the players.

In April, the club just shut down Kheira Hamraoui, after a fight with Sandy Baltimore, and she is not selected to represent France in this summer's European Championships.

More harmonious in the national team

Add to that the fact that PSG a month ago chose to suspend head coach Didier Ollé-Nicolle for inappropriate behavior and statements against players in the team.

What is it like to come to a rather messy year in PSG for this national team that everyone describes as so harmonious?

- Great fun of course.

We have been together (in the national team) for many years now and have a lot of fun together.

So it feels fun to be in place, says Amanda Ilestedt.
