This is a kind of wild walnut oil. The price of each 500ml (about one catty) is about 2,000 yuan. It can be called "Moutai" in the vegetable oil industry.
The staff said that the price of wild walnut oil is higher than that of non-wild walnut oil due to its low oil yield and high nutritional value.
Walnut oil itself is more expensive than ordinary vegetable oil, and is widely used in baby food supplements, nutritional products, and seasonings for vegetables.
Liu Xiaobo, a staff member of the Chengkou County Forestry Bureau, said that wild walnuts used to only rot in the mountains and forests, but someone discovered its value more than ten years ago, which enriched the walnut industry in Chengkou County.
According to a survey conducted by the bureau in 2019, the distribution area of wild walnuts exceeds 100,000 mu.
Chengkou County, Chongqing City was named "Hometown of Walnuts in China" by the State Forestry Administration of China.
According to the Forestry Bureau of Chengkou County, the county has successfully applied for the “Chengkou Walnut” geographical indication certification mark in 2015. At present, there are 3 leading walnut enterprises, 24 professional walnut cooperatives, and more than 3,000 large walnut households.
