Germany's women's soccer team around triple goal scorer Klara Bühl has quietly awakened dreams of medals for the European Championship with a convincing dress rehearsal.

The DFB selection won the last endurance test against Switzerland 7-0 (2-0) in front of 5918 spectators in Erfurt on Friday and flies with a lot of tailwind to the European Championship tournament from July 6th to 31st in England.

There, the team of national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg meets Denmark, Spain and Finland in the preliminary round.

"It's really good to play a game like this.

That gives self-confidence and shows us that we are on the right track.

It should go on like this," said Bühl on ZDF.

In addition to Bühl, who scored in the 6th, 61st and 66th minute, Lina Magull (41st), Linda Dallmann (81st), Jule Brand (89th) and Sydney Lohmann (90th + 5) steered the other goals for the German team, which is superior in all respects.

The DFB team, in which captain Alexandra Popp made her comeback in the final phase after surviving the corona infection, will continue its preparations for the European Championship until next Wednesday at the training camp in Herzogenaurach and then travel to the island on July 3rd.

The DFB team got off to a good start against the Swiss, who were coached by Voss-Tecklenburg from 2012 to 2018.

After a fine pass from Magull, Bühl headed all alone towards Swiss goalkeeper Gaelle Thalmann and successfully completed the early lead.

That gave additional security.

The German team controlled the game, but despite great enthusiasm and overwhelming superiority, they did not get beyond good approaches in attack.

So there were no chances for the time being.

Bühl scores three times – goalkeeper Frohms has little to do

Defensively, the DFB women were hardly challenged at all.

Goalkeeper Merle Frohms had a quiet afternoon as Switzerland barely got out of their own half.

Shortly before the break, Voss-Tecklenburg's protégés were rewarded for their efforts.

This time Bühl hung up after a fine solo for Magull, who scored from close range to make it 2-0.

“The first half was pretty good too.

During the break we addressed things that we wanted to implement.

And that worked out very well,” said Bühl.

Even after the change, the German team had everything under control.

Svenja Huth (54th) initially missed the 3-0 when she failed to stand free against Thalmann.

But Bühl aimed better a little later – albeit unintentionally.

A cross from the Bayern striker from the left wing hit the far corner.

Once up and running, the 21-year-old followed suit just five minutes later.

After a shot by Lea Schüller, Bühl was in the right place and put the ball into the empty goal.

When she was substituted almost 20 minutes before the end, the triple scorer was greeted with great applause.

The DFB women didn't let up in the closing stages either and scored two late goals.
