The captain of the national team for powerlifters, Muhammad Khamis, expressed his overwhelming happiness with the achievements made in the Asian and Oceania Open Championships for People of Determination in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, with the participation of 231 players, representing 19 countries, which was the beginning of compensation for him for the last period in which he missed the injury. Expressing his great happiness with what his fellow players and players have achieved, especially the juniors who achieved gold in their first participation, wishing them to continue paying attention to training and intensive preparation for such forums, especially with the approach of the World Championship that will be hosted by the UAE at the end of this year.

The team, which returned from participation, won 18 medals at the junior and adult level, with 10 gold, four silver and three bronze at the individual level, in addition to the national team winning the team gold, outperforming all participating teams in the tournament.

Upon its arrival in the country, the team's delegation was received by Mohammed Fadel Al Hamli, Chairman of the National Paralympic Committee, Abdulaziz Al-Hussan Al Shamsi, Director of the Competitive Sports Department at the General Sports Authority, Thiban Salem Al Muhairi, Secretary-General of the Committee, and a number of leaders in the sport of People of Determination in the country.

Muhammad Khamis Khalaf won two golds, two silvers and two bronzes, Zayed Al-Ansari four golds, Aisha Al-Mutaiwee three golds, Ahmed Khamis Al-Balushi one gold and one bronze, Khaled Al-Hammadi two silvers, and Ahmed Khamis, Abdullah Al-Naqbi and Adel Hassan won the gold in the national team championship.

For her part, the young player Aisha Al-Mutaiwee expressed her happiness for winning three gold medals that she gifted to our wise leaders, especially Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation (Mother of the Emirates), whose support for women has not ceased.
